Spring 2008 Programs

Coyote Tracks

An intensive mentoring program in which questioning, inspiration, and experiential learning opportunities are utilized to help each child uncover and cultivate his/her passions. This program is for children ages 5-12 years old and will be limited to 12 children.

Session Dates: March 2, March 16, April 13, April 27, May 16-17 (overnight Fri. night)
Time: 10-3 pm
Cost: $140 for all 5 sessions. The overnight will be an additional $60.

Scout Skills

Through nature games, exploration, deep questioning, and reflection, we will practice treading lightly upon the earth and cultivate a deeper sense of awareness, respect, and appreciation for ourselves, the natural world, and all of our relations.

Session Dates:
March 8: Orienteering, mapping, secret spot
March 22: Tracking, bird language, animal forms
April 12: Medicinal plants, wild crafting
April 26: Sustainable living skills, land stewardship
Cost: $35 per session. *Children must register for a minimum of two sessions.
Time: 12-4 pm

Earth Craft Winter Classes for Children

Inviting children ages 8-12 to learn new crafts and develop existing skills on the magical land of Ocean Song.
Cost: $30 - $20 per class; fee includes materials and instruction.
Times: 10 am - 2 pm
Workshop dates:

  • March 9 ~ Crafts and Food from the Garden and the Wild. We will gather a variety of plants to make teas, a salad and other delicious foods, and make beads and cordage from natural materials.
  • March 15 ~ Woodcarving (ages 9-12). Children will learn basic woodcarving techniques using local wood, small pocket knives and other woodworking tools.
  • March 16 ~ Basket Weaving. From round reed and wildcrafted materials, we will weave twined baskets.
  • March 29 ~ Herbal cosmetics. We will make lip balm, lotion, bath salts and a healing salve from high-quality herbs and oils.
  • March 30 ~ Woodcarving (ages 9-12). Children will learn basic woodcarving techniques using local wood, small pocket knives and other woodworking tools.
