The Ocean Song gardens is a wonderful display of co-habitation amidst flowers, vegetables and herbs. The gardens are planted with herbs and perennials that
provide habitat for hummingbirds, butterflies, beneficial insects and people of all ages. Our native grass lawn is a wonderful site to hold events. The farm and gardens have been certified organic through CCOF since 1984.
Since Spring of 2010, the Bohemian Farmer’s Collective has been farming several acres of land growing a mixed variety of vegetables and flowers. The produce grown at Ocean Song, along with produce from the BFC’s other farm sites, is available for sale at the Occidental and Sebastopol farmer’s markets or through joining the collective’s CSA (community supported agriculture) program. The BFC practices a combination of organic farming methods (including the French bio-intensive method and various permaculture techniques) which aim to increase soil fertility, conserve water, and enhance the biodiversity of the surrounding ecosystem.
Ocean Song is open to members year round and we ask everyone to respect the beauty of the sacred land, please respect the plants growing and do not harvest any flowers, fruits, or vegetables unless accompanied by one of our staff. Also, please help us keep the deer in their wild habitat by making sure that all gates are securely closed when entering/exiting the garden area.
